Cards for Heroes
Hello all! Sorry it's been a little while since we've posted. With Tammy and I both relocating this summer and Cheryl on vacation...it's a little crazy! But I wanted to post about something very special going on the Hero Arts Blog this week, they are having a card drive for Cards for Heroes. PLEASE consider making a few extra cards with all of your wonderful Lil Lambs Boutique supplies :-) Here's some inspiration!

LLB and PageMaps May Sketch Challenge!
Can you believe we’re already in the last half of May? Here’s a challenge to carry us through to the end of the month. Thanks so much to Becky Fleck and PageMaps for the use of her sketch for this challenge. Now gather up your creativity and be inspired by this sketch below. Create a layout and upload it to our Flickr gallery by May 30th at Midnight (PST). The layout must be at least 8x8 or bigger. Add the tag MayPM to your uploaded layout. The Design Team members will be able to help with tagging if needed. If you don’t have a Flickr account, you can click the “Join?” button on our group page.
If you have any questions, please ask them in the comment section below or in our flickr group and we’ll be along to answer and help you out.
Here is the May 2009 sketch from PageMaps. Isn't it a great sketch???
And here are some examples from our Design Team! Catherine followed the sketch very closely using Fancy Pants Delight Kit
Cheryl flipped the sketch and enlarged it using Crate Paper Little Sprout collection.
Now let's see your version of the sketch!!

Happy Mother's Day! ~Webster's Pages~
What a special day today is, not only for my Mom...but now being a Mother myself. Our tradition always involves me giving my Mom large potted flowers so she can have them the rest of the summer. I'm looking forward to my day of "fancy brunch" and root beer floats (my request :-D). Here's the card I created for my Mom...Happy Mother's Day, Momma! Papers are by Webster's Pages (my latest obsession...I talked Tammy at Lil' Lambs Boutique into carrying this line! I just love the soft, romantic style...), and I drew the bluebird and colored with Copic's!
Also thinking about Mother's today...here's a layout I did with Webster's Pages and my grandmother. She is the little girl on the right...this was taken probably around 1925 or so. I love how Webster's Pages easily lends itself to scrapping vintage pictures! Their paper reminds me of walking through a dream...
I journaled onto the vellum page they have, I found one of my pens would write and not smudge onto the vellum!
Happy Mother's Day!

My first Copic attempt...
I'm officially in love. With markers. Do you think my husband will mind?? Naaahhh...
The Copic's are amazing, they color so smooth and vibrant, I now see why they are so popular! Tammy at Lil Lambs Boutique has them in stock! It's hard to describe, but it's almost like the ink saturates the paper, you don't have to actually color so much like I did with other markers I've used. I have a lot to learn...and I hope to take a Copic certification class!
I hadn't made some of my Mother's Day cards yet and I made these up real quick last night. I quick stamped the flowers and butterfly, heat embossed, then colored with Copic markers! I love to send little cards to my friends and family that are Mother's too...Mom's do not get enough credit, so I always try to send a little card to all of the special Mom's in my life.
Thanks for taking a peek and Happy Tuesday!

Attention all scrappers!!
Your first challenge is to create a layout (8x8 or bigger) on advice you have received. It can be life-changing advice or some of the craziest advice you’ve received and tossed aside (we won’t tell). The layout must be created today and have journaling on the face of the layout somewhere (no hidden journaling for this one). Upload your layout to our flickr group and a random drawing will be done Sunday morning of all entries for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize. You have until midnight. Get scrapping!
Design Team member Cheryl Gramling gave us these words of wisdom using Basic Grey's new Lime Rickey:
Challenge #2: May reminds me of Mothers!
May always reminds me of Mothers. Not just because of Mother’s Day, but since I’ve been scrapping, some of the best pastel driven lines come out in the spring- and those always make great Mom layouts. So, nice and simple, because I know you’re working hard today with your scrapping, make a layout (8x8 or bigger) about Mothers. It could be your Mother (or Mum), yourself as a Mother, or even someone that has always been like a Mother to you. Let’s celebrate Mom today! Upload your layout to our flickr group and a random drawing will be done Sunday morning of all entries for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize. You have until midnight.
