Steampunk Debutante

I just knew I would love this line by Graphic 45 as soon as I heard the name. I was delighted when the order came in and saw that the devine colors and images exceeded my expectations.
The colors were perfect for a layout I had been wanting to do with my daughter's horse riding pictures.
I was able to complete this fun collage using items found in this Deluxe Kit. The mini frames were perfect for focusing on a few of the smaller images that otherwise would have been lost in the larger photo.

Have a great week!

Paper flowers everywhere!

Don't you just love the paper flower trend right now? What a great way to use up those scraps leftover from your projects. I found this paper flower technique on Cosmo Cricket's blog.

I didn't use the watercolors but did use an ink pad on the edges and then gave them a little sparkle with some stickles.
This was all found in the Basic Grey Max and Whiskers Deluxe Kit. The flowers were a fun addition to this layout.

Have you done any of the paper flowers? If so please share a link with us... we'd love to see them!

Olivia hits the mark!

We have a few new deluxe kits in stock now and Olivia by BasicGrey is one of my favorites! We were excited to be able to put the new Prima Say it in Pearls and Flowers in these kits. The picture does not do them justice.... they are full of glittery goodness!
I'm sure many of you have gone through this... this summer my son decided that the only shirt he will wear is an R2D2 shirt. Now he has a ton of cute clothes but somehow no matter what I give him to wear he ends up in this shirt. What is a scrappin' mom to do?? How can I possibly scrap him in the same shirt over and over again?? So when I saw the Olivia line I had to chuckle a bit. It fit the shirt perfectly! Now, how do I get him to smile??

It's a tropical paradise!

I can't complain a bit about the weather here! I've spent more time outdoors this week knowing that the sun may disappear again within the next few days.  On those days that have me cooped up inside I tend to grab my summer photos and scrap away.  It takes a litte bit of the chill out my bones.  Try it- and then tell me these sunny papers don't brighten your day.

Prima's mix of  the Tropics and Paradise lines fit the bill for my last "where is the sun" scrap session.

This was made using the Tropical Paradise deluxe kit which has sold out but we do have a couple of the paper kits left.  Grab them while you can and watch those winter blues float away. ;)

Have a great day!

Stitched to perfection.

I absolutely love Prima's specialty stitched papers...the detail is so intricate and fun.

Today's kit is full of loveliness:

Just check out the decorative edge trim on this paper! Prima made me smile again!

There's even more Prima to come :-)

Prima page in a flash!

My valuable scrapping time seems to be less and less these days so I'm loving these stitched pages by Prima. Half of the work is already done for you- just find a kit to match your picture and you're done. Okay, so that might be exaggerating a little but it is much better than trying to thread a sewing machine myself!

Check out this spectacular kit!

I just cut out the center square, placed the picture behind and then embellished to my liking!

I adore the bejeweled leaf in the kit! For the letters I took some of my clear acrylic letters and coated them with Tim Holtz's Rock Candy crackle paint and then accented the title mat with Rock Candy Stickles. Brrrr.... almost feels like ice!

Enjoy your snow days!

I've declared this week...Prima week!

Well, it seems on my last scrap session I kept grabbing for my beloved Prima kits so that's what you'll be seeing this week. Hope you don't mind! ;-)
The first featured kit is this one:
I love playing with the cardboard and the printed design reminded me of the gorgeous blues of the ocean and the coral you find there--- so that is what it became.

More Prima to come....
Have a great week!

Postcards from Paris

Happy Thursday friends! I just can't come up with the proper words to describe how beautiful the four new lines of Webster's Pages are. Today we're featuring "Postcards from Paris". Just so romantic! Here is a quick birthday card I made for a friend using the fabric fancies and these sweet papers. I even tucked in a memory capsule from my Tim Holtz goodies.

Postcards from Paris:

Lots more of Webster's Pages to come! Right now I'm off to list all of the new BoBunny that the UPS man just dropped off! My fun never ends!
Have a great evening!

Ready for another challenge & a chance to win??

Well, here it is! Cheryl has a fun one for you this month! Since we will be bombarded with holidays from now until the end of the year, we decided to start the party with “Anything but a Holiday ” Challenge. So let’s see your layouts or altered items that are non-Holiday-ish. But, there’s a catch... there’s always a catch. You must use holiday themed paper. So get out your Halloween, Christmas, Easter, whatever Holiday paper you have and get creating.

Cheryl and I both pulled out our Fancy Pants Designs "Trick or Treat" lines for this challenge and you can see how versatile this line is. Cheryl's "Eeks!" layout journals some of her fears. The paper was perfect for this theme and the journal cards sheet makes it a cinch to journal in your layouts.
I also used the "Trick or Treat" line by Fancy Pants but added the decorative edge sheet from the Pink Paislee "Twilight" line. It's all Halloween themed paper but again, not a Halloween theme!

On a side note... we're thrilled to now be carrying items from The Robin's Nest! They arrived this weekend and should all be listed early this week. Check out the adorable tear drops used to accent the scalloped edge from the decorative edge paper. So fun to work with!
The flowers were made using one of our fun Spellbinders Nestabilities- so easy and a great way to use up that left over patterned paper.

So are you up for the challenge?? I hope so! We'd love to see what you come up with! (Especially those of you that are eyeing a spot on the design team. ;) hint, hint...)

Can I get a round of applause...

....for Cheryl and Catherine, the amazingly talented design team here at LLB? Even with the craziness that was this past summer they trudged on and kept the inspiration coming.
We've been chatting and we are at a point where we are considering adding another design team member (or two)! We are still working out the details but would love to hear from you if you would like to be considered for the position. Send me an email or leave a comment on this post with your name, a link to your blog and any other information that you would like us to know. We can't wait to hear from you!
It's been a while but I did a little scrapping this week! Yay! I was asked to do a custom order for some voice recorders. I haven't been taking custom orders because the business side of the shoppe has been consuming me but decided to take these on to try to get back in the groove. It's therapy, right??!
I made this using the new Fancy Pants Dancing Girl Deluxe Kit. This collection is so whimsical and fun to work with!

This next recorder was made using LYB's Safari Girl Deluxe Kit... it even includes the voice recorder! Don't let the name fool you... it's great for babies but is so versatile for other themes as well! Plus, it's on sale right now!

Happy Birthday BasicGrey!

BasicGrey is celebrating it's 5th Birthday! It seems like only yesterday I discovered this fun and completely unique company... and my, my... how they have grown! I've been inspired all day after receiving their July newsletter announcing the celebration. I decided I would take a break today and scrap in honor of their big day. Here is what I played with....

and their newly released June Bug!!

And now on to what I know some of you have been patiently waiting for... the winner of the Bo Bunny Freedom collection....

You crackle me up!

Just a short post today... but wanted to show you another example using Cosmo Cricket's new Snorkel line. This was such a fun layout to do! When I saw the distressed wood patterned paper I immediately thought of this picture and the distressed wood doors used for props. I added some touches of Ranger's distress crackle paint to continue with the theme.

I used chalk to enhance the crackle effect on these circles which were cut from the Snorkel patterned paper.

On the Fancy Pants Designs chipboard swirl I was able to match the color of the paper by first painting it with an acrylic paint and then going over it again with the crackle paint which allowed the color to bleed through. This paint is so much fun to play with!

And a special toot, toot for our designer Catherine Doucette! One of her cards using this Cosmo Cricket line was chosen to be published in July's issue of Scrapbook Trends Cards. Congratulations and we are sure we will see many more of your projects published soon!
Hope you all have a wonderful President's Day! I'm off to enjoy the kid's day off from school!

Feelin' Fancy

Hi all! I have a few layouts for you today featuring Fancy Pants Designs! The first two are both made using The Daily Grind kit. This line was perfect for capturing those everyday moments that you hope you never forget. Add some Bazzill tulle and ribbon and a few buttons and you have a few easy and fun pages completed with this kit.

The next layout uses Artic Chill as the background paper with All Fall accent papers and two transparencies. This was from a trip to the Houston butterfly museum so I finally had a reason to use my butterfly I had been hoarding. I spritzed him and some white Prima Flowers with Glimmer Mist and layered them over a Prima Say it in Crystal and the layout was finished in a flash!

Ready for some Fancy Pants sneak peeks?? Here are the three lines that will be arriving here any day now. They've outdone themselves again and we can't wait to get our hands on these fun and whimsical designs!
