Doodlebug...some cute stuff!
I just found myself drowning in all the sugary sweetness of this Doodlbug Designs paper. Pink cupcakes, wonderful colors, lively patterns, just precious. Precious, I tell you!! I started out making a card, but I couldn't stop layering the papers. I had to have the dots, no, the stripes, no the plaid! Then it was so big I decided I had to do something else. Well, with a little girls birthday right around the corner, I made a door hanger. Won't she be surprised to wake up with this on her door! I can't wait to do a layout of her birthday with this sweet paper!
I hand pieced the cupcake using the tiny cupcake on the paper as my inspiration! The cupcake "holder" was drawn with my Copics. The sprinkles are Doodlebug Sugar Coating Glitter. I took tiny glue dots and placed them as my sprinkles, then shook wth Sugar over them and pressed down...waa laa! Instant cuteness and it didn't have to dry!
Can you see all the wonderful patterns? Love it!! Oh, and here's another tip with your Copic's...see the grey shadow around my stamped Happy Birthday? I created that shadow with my Copic's to help the letters POP out a bit more :-)

Cosmo Cricket ~Early Bird~
Cosmo Cricket is at it again!! Cute, Funky, Retro, Fun, Fun, Fun! I just love this new Early Bird Collection...and Tammy said it's selling fast and I needed to post some projects before it's all gone! Here are a couple of cards I made with the collection, and I love them both for different ways. The trend of vintage retro is a style I am learning to embrace, and the toaster's, salt and pepper, and kitchen images are just too hard to pass up!
Then the patterns, dots, cherries, florals...oh my!
Oops...this one was requested for publication...told ya this is come cute paper :-)
Hurry, get it while you can :0)

Copic Colorless Blender
As some of our readers know, I have ventured into the wonderful world of Copic Markers. They are amazing markers, and today I want to show a few techniques using the Colorless Blender. It's not just for blending! You can use it to "take away" color too. Here are some examples, the top elephant being plain, then several ideas below. Some of the Copic colors work better with this technique than others, but I have found the blues to work particularly well with this "lifting technique" (I don't know what this is called...I just made that up!).
In these examples, I just use the Colorless Blender and draw over the same area several times, at least 3 before you can really tell the color has lifted.
Again, the first elephant is plain, just colored in, but in the next example, I used it as a highlight and ran the pen along where a natural highlight would appear, then I played with a flowerish decoration on his ear.
Here are stripes and plaids! And my favorite, dots. For dots you just hold the pen in place for a few seconds. Sometimes, after the original dots dries, I'll go back and do it again just to really make it pop!
Thanks for taking a peek, enjoy playing with your Copic's!!
