Fancy Pants ~ To Trick or to Treat?
Tammy created an incredibly fun Fancy Pants Halloween Deluxe Kit that I've been using this past week. I have two very girly girls and at first glance I wasn't sure how in the world I could work any of their froo-frooy costumes into this whimiscal line. However, the wonderful thing about the Fancy Pants Trick or Treat line featured in this kit is the double sided papers. The fronts feature the fun and ghoulish side of Halloween and the backsides have more subdued patterns.
I ended up making two layouts using both sides of the papers. The layouts couldn't be more different so hopefully this will inspire you to think in more than just the obvious way for some of the papers you buy.
As most of you have seen from our current challenge running, you don't have to use themed paper for the intended purpose for which it was created. Below I used the front sides of the Trick or Treat line to capture things that just freak me out.
Then, I flipped all the papers over and used them to make this very flowery Halloween layout of my girls.
I couldn't resist adding the Rock Candy Crackle paint to my photo mats and flowers and really like how the effect turned out. Rock Candy goes on clear so you don't lose any of the pattern or color underneath.
The Bling It pack by Basic Grey, included in the kit was perfect for the bases of my flowers.
I had some extra bling leftover and decided to make this cute little butterfly as well. Bling never has to stay in it's original form. So, get those scissors and cut it apart to suit your needs.
We'd love to see your take on this line. Drop us a link to your layouts in the comment section below so we can see how you used this wonderful kit.
Have a safe Halloween this weekend!

Fancy Pants ~ Christmas Magic~
Tammy sent me THIS adorable paper kit from Fancy Pants called "Christmas Magic". I just fell in love :0) Look at that HUGE snowflake!! How could you cover that up?? Most of this paper I just want to frame and hang on the wall :0)
I used some of THESE Prima Holly Leaves. They were not quite the right color, so I spritzed them with Glimmer Mist...
Now, you scrappers out there...how do you handle doing the same picture for different albums?? I try not to do this, but I love these pictures of my kiddos from last year, so I decided to scrap them twice...one for each of their albums.
Does everyone do this?? Scrap the same picture more than once?? Do you do the exact layout twice (or 3 or 4 times?)
I used some of THESE super cool Dew Drops from Robin's Nest. (I sooo want to use these for the center of a flower!)
So, one wonderful paper line gave me two very different looking layouts! Hmmm...only took me 10 months to scrap last year's Christmas photos...maybe I can be a little faster this year!
Have a great Monday!

Ready for another challenge & a chance to win??
On a side note... we're thrilled to now be carrying items from The Robin's Nest! They arrived this weekend and should all be listed early this week. Check out the adorable tear drops used to accent the scalloped edge from the decorative edge paper. So fun to work with!
The flowers were made using one of our fun Spellbinders Nestabilities- so easy and a great way to use up that left over patterned paper.
So are you up for the challenge?? I hope so! We'd love to see what you come up with! (Especially those of you that are eyeing a spot on the design team. ;) hint, hint...)

Basic Grey Eerie Kit
Wow, have you seen the new Basic Grey paper from Eerie?? It is sooooooo cool! Now, I am a fan of Halloween, and it is one of my favorite things to scrap too. But, I seem to always start with cards.
Here's the Basic Grey Deluxe kit full of goodies HERE:
Here are the first two cards I've created...just since yesterday :0)
Now, I also got to play with a few new items to Lil Lamb's Boutique, (I know, I'm a lucky girl!)...Tim Holtz Rock Candy (be still by heart!) and the Floral and Stone Impressability Die by Spellbinder HERE. You would believe how fast I ripped into that Impressability!! I've been experimenting on everything! First, I did go to the Spellbinder Blog and learned how they create with them HERE, then I started doing my own thing! I cut the pumpkin from Oval Spellbinder Die, using felt, then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist...THEN ran it through the Impressability! What a cool effect this created. I did sandwhich two pieces of typing paper to blot up the extra Glimmer Mist.
On to Rock Candy. Yummy stuff, let me tell you! I colored the bat with my Copic Marker, then covered it in Ranger's Distress Stickles Rock Candy. I hand cut the pumpkins eyes and nose, then touched it with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint, Rock Candy. Can you see all of the cool cracking technique?? I will be using this stuff on everything!!!
Here's another I created just using the paper, and a fabric bow!
I am soooo ready for Halloween :0) Have fun creating!

Boo!
I just love the hauntingly fun "Eerie" by Basic Grey
and Pink Paislee never fails with their Halloween lines and this year it's "Twilight"
I will be at a trade show in Houston scouting out all of the new fall releases that are starting to show up. While I'm there I'll be taking a few classes from the pros- I'll try to get a few pictures. :)
