Little Yellow Bicycle~ Fresh Print Traveler
Tammy sent me some Little Yellow Bicycle Fresh Print Traveler to play with. As soon as I saw it, it just said "Fall" to me. Deep oranges and blues...fall! I just got my PaperTrey Ink's Vintage Picnic and loved, loved, loved the pumpkins. This was the first stamp I pulled out and it did not disappoint. I colored the scene with Copic's...and I need to get better about taking a picture of the color's I use. Obviously I used oranges and browns, and I stick to the "buy one color you love...and two of it's friends". I buy a color I love, then one color up for highlights, and one color down for shading. Last, I torn a small strip of muslin fabric and tied a small bow.
Happy Harvest! It'll be here before we know it.

Little Yellow Bicycle - Fresh Print Traveler
If you haven't seen the new Fresh Print Traveler line by Little Yellow Bicycle...you simply must. I love that they've stayed true to the boldness of their patterns yet have added a simple elegance to this particular line in theme and color choice.
Although my first thought was to grab my Arizona vacation pictures and utilize the earthiness of the color scheme, I quickly realized that I'd rather capture the elegance from the papers to scrap a friend's wedding. There is really such diverse possibilities with this paper kit.
Good news! All Little Yellow Bicycle products are 40% off this week! Now's your chance to try out this elegant paper!

Webster's Pages and a Recipe Stand!
Oh boy are you guys gonna love this!!
Tammy at Lil Lambs Boutique sent me some suuuuper cool stuff to play with! When I saw this plain recipe stand, I about fell out of my chair! I couldn't wait get a chance to alter it so it would match my kitchen! Kaiser Craft Recipe Stand
and used THIS great kit full of Websters Pages and created this:
To get the "cherrywood" look, I used three different Glimmer Mist's. First I sprayed with Juneberry Wine, then Graphite and last Coffee Shop. I sprayed then brushed the Mist all over the project in layers to get that reddish brown to match my kitchen cabinets!
I LOVE Webster's Pages paper, but my main issue is that they are too pretty to cut. So I started with my favorite full sheet (that I couldn't bring myself to cut) and added lots of cut outs from other sheets. I inked the edges of everything, then painted around each label with more Glimmer Mist so it added more dimension. I used my Copic Markers to color in the apron and top of our lovely cook! Finally I Modge-Podged the entire thing
For a finishing touch, I added Tim Holtz Metal Corners (also in the kit) on the bottom. It is now sitting on my butler's pantry waiting for a recipe!!

July’s ~Think Outside the Box ~ Challenge
We’re heading into the dog days of summer and the heat can really start cramping our creativity in our scrapping. So we’re here to help you “think outside the box” and get those juices flowing again. Your challenge is to create a layout (can be 8x8 or bigger) and think outside the box! What do I mean? Well how many layouts do you have where all the photos are either squares or rectangles, just matted and put on your layout. Boxes, all boxes! Let’s toss those boxes out and do something different. I want at the very least, a different shape for your photos. But if you really want to get creative, cut out those subjects from your photos and add them to the scene of your layout. Removing the frames around the subjects in your photographs adds instant dimension to your pages.
Here’s a design team sample below from Cheryl to get your ideas sparked.
She used Doodlebug Design’s “Cherry Jubilee” paper kit from our Shoppe to create this whimsical garden layout of her two daughters. So get out those scissors and photographs and start creating. You have until July 31st to submit your layout to our flickr group HERE. Tag your entry "NOBOXES". If you have any trouble uploading or tagging your layout, let us know in the Flickr group. We’ll be able to help you.
Here's another example of using circles for photos by Catherine:
Put those thinking caps on!! Let's see what you can come up with!
A winner will be randomly drawn on August 1st, and receive a $20 Gift Certificate to Lil’ Lambs Boutique so you can buy more cool stuff!
