Watercolor Rainbow ~ Beautiful

The Prima Marketing ~Watercolor Rainbow ~Deluxe Scrapbook Kit is really amazing. This kit made scrapping three pages a snap. The three beautiful “layout” pages were so fun to use and the gorgeous embellishments included with this kit make the most glorious pages. But it is also great for cards too. Here are two that I made with the last sheet I had left.

Here’s a closer look at the gate-fold card. The font and scalloped cutout are from Cricut’s Storybook cartridge.

The second layout I did was with the “Precious Morning” Sheet seen below unadorned.

Here is the finished layout of my precious daughter in her Christening gown.

The Prima Debutante Flower Stem on the right side of the frame is unbelievably beautiful. It really makes this layout special. Because the picture had aged and Sarah’s gown no longer appeared snow white, I chose to ink the white areas on this paper with some vanilla ink. I didn’t want the gown to appear yellowed and by not using true white anywhere else on the layout the gown appears whiter.

I only had the one pose of Sarah in her gown, so instead of using three smaller pictures, I chose to block it out and use this area for a title. I love the way this particular paper looks layered on the vanilla cardstock (again font from the Storybook Cartridge). I finished the title off with a touch of Ranger Stickles.

This paper has two beautiful aqua corner flourishes on it and I just enhanced it with some pearl dimensional paint and stickles. I think it makes this layout pop!

I was able to do one more layout but am waiting for pictures. I will post it when I get them adhered. What really amazes me is just how much you create with these deluxe kits. So much beauty for a great price!

Life Portrait from Websters Pages

Webster's came out with a nice mix of bold to subtle colors and patterns in the their Life 's Portrait Paper line. I knew right off what I wanted to do with this page when I saw the beautiful, ornate frame on the right. I just had to decide which set of grandparents/grandkids to use. Since one side has 5 and the other 9, the choice seemed rather simple. Although there were plenty of frames left to use on the frame patterned sheet.

At the top you can see the new Martha Stewart Iron Gate border punch. Isn't it fabulous? It completed the top and bottom of my layout so nicely.

I chose Distress inks to give the layout more of a vintage feel (Tattered Rose, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo used here). The hand and watch on the right side were Distressed using Distress Powders (Weathered Wood, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo used)

Oh, how quickly they grow. In the blink of an eye, my husband and I will be the ones in the photo frame with all of our grandkids ready for us to spoil.

I love Primas!!

Oh, have you seen the Prima's Tammy has been getting into the Boutique???? Are they not amazing? I just couldn't resist making some into hair clips for my daughter :0)

These Prima's come with only 2 leaves, and I needed another large one to cover the end of the clip. The leaf I had was the wrong color, so out came my handy-dandy Copic's! (I've now heard of people using their copics to fix bleach spots on their clothes...since they are permanent. AND I've heard about people fixing furniture scratches too! ) I scribbled to the side so I could see the color, then simply started layering color onto the leaf :0)

When it was dry (only takes a second with Copics), I glued everything on to a clip!

My daughter LOVES them, and they are soooooo cute! Do you think an almost 40 year old Mommy could wear one??

Spotlight on Cosmo Cricket

I always love, love, love the fun designs by Cosmo Cricket and this release was no different. We just received two new Mini Decks which are perfect for mini albums or cardmaking. Aren't these adorable?

Prima Marketing ~ Delish!!!!

I have always been a huge Prima fan, but I‘ve got to say these new collections are truly amazing. Tammy has put together the most fantastic kits. The Prima Marketing ~Watercolor Rainbow ~Deluxe Scrapbook Kit is perfect for even the most inexperienced scrapper. It includes not only beautiful two-sided patterned papers but also papers like “Because” (shown below unadorned).

In a pinch, you could just add pictures and journaling and you would have a gorgeous keepsake, but of course I had to “kick it up a notch”! The first thing I did was cut away the inside of the frame. I ran a piece of light aqua Bazzill through my Cuttlebug to emboss a raised floral pattern. I sprayed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Sea Glass on a sponge and rubbed it over the embossed paper then took a bit of brown Distress Ink to it to age it a bit. I used pop dots to adhere it to the backside of the paper behind the opening.

I double matted the picture, wrapped a scrap of sateen ribbon and added a bow and a Prima Pebble before pop dotting it in the center of the opening. I just love the dimension this created.

I loved the Prima flowers that came in this kit but wanted more of an impact, so I cut flowers from the Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge in multiple sizes. I embossed them with the same folder, rubbed rose ink on them and layered them over three Prima leaves. I then took the clay flowers from the “Say It In Pearls“ embellishment (can you say yumm-o?), tinted it with rose ink and placed it in the center of my home made flower. I love the way the way these nestle so nicely in with the Primas.

The "because" title is beautiful on its own, but for more dimension I cut out a “b” the same size on a bit of light pink Bazzill, stamped it with text, inked the edges and embossed it with the Cuttlebug. It is pop dotted for added dimension.

A few more flowers, a bit of journaling and this layout was complete! Love, love, love me some Prima!

Basic Grey - Origins

I'm not sure how Basic Grey continues to please me after all these years, but the Origins paper line is no exception. I love the feel of spring with the colors of fall. It made for a fun, creative process and gave me an opportunity to scrap one of those rare pages about myself.

The layout below is titled "Multi-tasking is my life" and I think Mothers/Wives everywhere can relate. I cut out the middle section of the background paper and backloaded it with a different pattern. I brushed up on my hand sewing skills and sewed a zig zag stitch all around to separate the patterns. To complete the layout, I added the photo, all the journaling strips and cut flowers from one of the papers.

If you're having a hard time matching photos with this line, changing your photos to sepia tone is a great match for the colors.

I used Distress Ink by Ranger, for the edges of the journaling strips (Shabby Shutters and Tea Dye). They made a great blend that perfectly coordinated with the cut flowers.

For my other layout, I decided to cut the die cut paper up in sections since I had a similar die cut look above. Cut in sections, they made nice petals for a huge flower. For the center ring, I used the green checked paper and clear embossed it with a journaling stamp (by Stamper's Anonymous). I then inked over the entire ring with Shabby Shutters and Tea Dye Distress Ink. You can see how the embossed areas let the green paper show through from behind. I love this technique.

The rest of the layout is filled with a handmade stem flourish accented with lots of cut flowers from the paper line and doodling around the edges.
